Intercambio Intelectual

El programa de eventos de la Colnaghi Foundation está concebido como una extensión de su misión académica, creando espacios para el intercambio crítico.

Collectors and the Baroque

Highlights from the October volume of the Colnaghi Studies Journal

This evening event marked the presentation of the most recent volume of the Colnaghi Studies Journal, bringing together the Colnaghi Foundation, the editorial team, and contributing authors in a public conversation. Centred on the theme Collectors and the Baroque, the discussion examined the shifting reception of Baroque art among collectors, with particular reference to the recent contributions by Peter Humfrey and Timothy Revell.

Launch of a new scholarly publication

Codex

Exhibition, curatorial project, and catalogue

In May 2025, the Colnaghi Foundation supported the exhibition Codex, curated by Candida Lodovica de Angelis Corvi at the Vatican Apostolic Library. The project encompassed curatorial development, exhibition design, and the production of an accompanying catalogue, contributing to scholarly research and public engagement with historic materials.

TEFAF Maastricht Gala Dinner

Presentation of the collaboration with the Vatican Apostolic Library

On the occasion of TEFAF Maastricht 2025, the Colnaghi Foundation hosted a gala dinner under its aegis to formally present the newly established collaboration with the Vatican Apostolic Library. The evening brought together patrons, scholars, and institutional partners to mark the beginning of this significant long-term partnership.

Partnership with Misk Art Institute

Curatorial exchange and shared learning programmes

In February 2025, the Colnaghi Foundation formalised a partnership with the Misk Art Institute in Riyadh. The collaboration focuses on the co-creation of curatorial exchange opportunities and the development of shared learning programmes, fostering dialogue, research, and professional exchange between institutions working with historic art and contemporary scholarship.

Philanthropy and Legacy in the Art World

Spark Family Office × Colnaghi Foundation

In collaboration with Spark Family Office, the Colnaghi Foundation marked the close of Frieze week with an event dedicated to philanthropy and legacy in the art world. The programme included a dinner followed by a day of conversations and panel discussions on art philanthropy, history, and the formation of collections with lasting cultural impact.

The legacy of the Grand Tour

In partnership with the World Monuments Fund and Castle Howard, the Colnaghi Foundation co-hosted an intimate gathering and scholarly debate examining the enduring influence of the Grand Tour on art, architecture, and cultural preservation, welcoming a diverse and cross-generational audience.

The Art of Viceregal Latin America and Brazil

One-day international symposium

On 26 September 2024, the Colnaghi Foundation, in collaboration with the Athena Foundation, hosted a one-day symposium dedicated to the art of Viceregal Latin America and Brazil. The event welcomed audiences both in person at the Colnaghi Foundation and online via free-access Zoom.

After-TEFAF Weekend with the Colnaghi Foundation

Learning and dialogue across disciplines

To coincide with TEFAF Maastricht, the Colnaghi Foundation organised a post-opening weekend in Paris. The programme included a conference at the Marie Curie Amphitheatre, Sorbonne University, titled Artificial Intelligence: Applications to Collecting and Old Masters, led by Professor Julian Randon-Furling, physicist Robert Erdmann, and UNESCO Information System representatives. The following day featured a private visit to The Al Thani Collection at Hôtel de la Marine, celebrating the exhibition Goût de la Renaissance. Un dialogue entre collections.

Bonifacio de' Pitati Book Presentation

Launch of a new scholarly monograph

Renowned Venetian art historian Peter Humfrey presented a new monograph on the sixteenth-century painter Bonifacio de' Pitati (1487–1553) at the Colnaghi Foundation. The presentation included a conversation with co-author Philip Cottrell, offering new insights into Venetian Renaissance painting.

Conference at Accademia di San Luca

A lecture by the Colnaghi Foundation Director examining diplomatic and artistic exchanges between the royal courts of Florence and Paris at the end of the sixteenth century, hosted at the Accademia di San Luca.

Colnaghi Foundation Director Candida Lodovica delivered a conference during the AIDAF Annual Symposium and Gala, addressing themes of art, family unity, and philanthropy within the context of family businesses.

Art Collecting in Evolution

A three-day programme for patrons and next-generation collectors

The Colnaghi Foundation organised a three-day programme in Miami for a selected group of patrons and next-generation connoisseurs, exploring the evolution of art collecting. Day 1: Private preview and director-led tour at ICA Miami, followed by a Colnaghi Foundation conference and cocktail, graciously sponsored by the museum. Day 2: Visits to private collections and a special event at the De La Cruz Art Collection Museum with the founders. Day 3: Evening at the Key Biscayne Yacht Club, featuring a Foundation debate on art and technology and a dinner-cocktail graciously sponsored by the Heuzé family.

The Al Thani Collection at Hôtel de la Marine

Private curator-led visit and dinner

The Colnaghi Foundation hosted a private visit to The Al Thani Collection at Hôtel de la Marine, led by a Louvre curator and the Collection's Director. The evening concluded with a dinner graciously sponsored by Heritage Holding, fostering discussion on cross-cultural collecting and exhibition-making.

Finissage of Max Ernst at Palazzo Reale

Curator-led exploration of Max Ernst's inner Kunstkammer

On the occasion of the finissage of the exhibition Max Ernst at Palazzo Reale, the Colnaghi Foundation organised a private curator-led tour focused on the artist's oneiric universe and conceptual Kunstkammer. The visit was followed by exclusive access to the art Caveau of Banca Intesa, offering participants an intimate encounter with works rarely accessible to the public.
