Tax Relief on Donations
The Colnaghi Foundation is a UK charity. If you are a UK taxpayer, your donation may be eligible for Gift Aid, which increases the value of your gift at no extra cost to you.
Gift Aid
If you have paid UK Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax equal to at least 25% of your donation in the current tax year, the Foundation can reclaim 25p for every £1 donated.
To enable Gift Aid, you will be asked to confirm that:
- You are a UK taxpayer
- You want the Colnaghi Foundation to claim Gift Aid on your donation
Higher-Rate Taxpayers
If you pay tax at a higher or additional rate, you may be able to claim further tax relief on your donation through your Self Assessment tax return.
Important Notes
- Gift Aid is claimed from HMRC and is subject to eligibility and the relevant HMRC rules.
- If your tax paid is less than the Gift Aid claimed on your donations, you may need to pay the difference to HMRC.
- If your circumstances change, you can cancel your Gift Aid declaration at any time.
